Tours

The Choir tours in a variety of formations depending on repertoire, venue size and the budgets of promoters.

TRINITY BOYS CHOIR – NINE

Combining the solo singing skills of its most accomplished trebles with their extensive ensemble experience, this group of nine performs repertoire from the Renaissance to the present day, often in three parts (SSA).

This group made its debut in Schloss Bissingen, Germany, in December 2014 and performed the premiere of Russell Hepplewhite’s ‘The Death of Robin Hood’, a TBC commission, in 2015. NINE toured Germany in May 2016, appearing in the prestigious ‘A Cappella-Woche Hannover’ and at various cathedrals and abbeys. Following a highly successful tour to Germany in 2018, NINE return to Germany in 2019 for concerts in Magdeburg Cathedral, Hamburg and Kiel, amongst others.

TRINITY BOYS CHOIR (SSA)

The touring choir most commonly comprises between twenty and twenty-four trebles and young altos. The repertoire is extensive, including both secular and sacred programmes, and the choir is proud to present, alongside standard works, both its own highly virtuosic arrangements of well-known British folksongs and challenging commissions. Many of the choir’s arrangements were composed by the choir’s former Director, David de Warrenne, and recent commissions include those from Tom Harrold, Russell Hepplewhite, Grayston Ives, Graham Lack and Richard Wilberforce.

The choir has performed throughout the world. In December 2015 it undertook a major tour of Japan and in 2016 the choir appeared in the China Shanghai International Arts Festival. In 2018 the choir undertook a major ten concert tour of China and returns in August 2024.

TRINITY BOYS CHOIR (SATB)

Choir members graduate to counter-tenor, tenor and bass following the voice change and the full SATB line-up can expand to eighty, depending on the demands of the chosen repertoire. This group performs annually at the Royal Albert Hall in the Raymond Gubbay Christmas Festival and has toured to numerous countries, including the Czech Republic, France, Norway and Poland. Current plans for 2025 include concerts in France, Poland and Germany.

This ensemble recently filmed its own version of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ on the invitation of Queen and it appears on the rock group’s youtube channel.

CIRRUS VOICES

Founded in 2010, this choir is made up of young adult professional singers who are former members of Trinity Boys Choir. Many studied as choral scholars at Oxford and Cambridge universities or at London’s music colleges and are now performing with the UK’s finest professional adult and cathedral choirs.

Cirrus Voices combines with Trinity Boys Choir when appropriate to add vocal maturity and experience to the ATB sound. This group made its stand alone debut in October 2018 in Germany.

TRINITY BOYS CHOIR – EIGHT

Two trebles, two altos, two tenors and two basses, this group specialises in Renaissance repertoire in collaboration with the Dutch early music group, L’Armonia Sonora.

This collaboration made its debut in September 2017 at the Utrecht Early Music Festival. In December 2018 the groups undertook a highly successful Holland and UK tour of the programme ‘A Tudor Christmas’.

TRINITY BOYS CHOIR – FOUR

Four soloists (SATB) regularly collaborate with the French violist François Joubert-Caillet and his ensemble, L’Achéron. This group’s debut was in the Namur Festival in July 2022. It has since performed in numerous festivals in France and Belgium and has featured on Belgium Radio.
