David Swinson

David Swinson began his musical education as a chorister at Magdalen College, Oxford. He studied piano and organ at the Royal College of Music, winning five major prizes and a scholarship from the Countess of Munster Music Trust. He was organ scholar at Jesus College, Cambridge, and during this time became a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists and was a finalist in the Royal College of Organists Performer of the Year competition.
From 2001 to 2024 David was Director of Music at Trinity School, Croydon, and Director of Trinity Boys Choir. Under his directorship the choir performed in fourteen BBC Proms concerts, recorded over thirty film soundtracks, and toured China, Japan and throughout Europe. The choir’s recordings were acclaimed Critics’ Choice for the American Record Review and Recording of the Month in both MusicWeb International and Organists’ Review.
David works as a freelance educator, conductor, organist and pianist.
